The New Orleans Saints are bringing in free agent RB Adrian Peterson for a visit next week, according to Heath Evans of the NFL Network.

The Patriots recently met with Peterson but he wound up leaving New England without a contract. Before that, Peterson visited with the Seahawks.

The Packers, Raiders, Lions, Giants and Buccaneers have also come up at different points in the offseason as potential landing spots for Peterson since free agency opened a while ago.

Peterson, 31, is a former first-round pick of the Vikings back in 2007. He was entering the final year of his three-year, $44 million contract that included $20 million guaranteed and was set to make a base salary of $11.75 million to go along with a $6 million roster bonus due on March 11.

Peterson is testing the open market for the first time in his career.

In 2016, Peterson has rushed for 72 yards on 37 carries (1.9 YPC) to go along with three receptions for eight yards receiving and no touchdowns over the course of three games.

We have him featured in our Top 50 Available Free Agents list.
