According to Katie Moore of WWLTV.com, Saints DE Cameron Jordan is under investigation for misdemeanor sexual battery following a scuffle that escalated between him, and the boyfriend of a woman at a New Orleans nightclub.
The report was made by a man and his girlfriend, alleging that Jordan swatted the woman on her buttocks, to which a minor scuffle ensued between him and her boyfriend in the nightclub’s bathroom.
Jordan cooperated fully with police and said that he knew the woman previously. At this point in time, no warrant has been issued to Jordan, and he has not been charged with any crime.
Though the two sides reportedly tried to defuse the situation, the couple filed a report with police early Sunday morning. Currently, investigators are working to determine if the incident rises to the level of a misdemeanor sexual battery.
Jordan, 25, recently signed a five-year, $60 million extension, with $33.8 million guaranteed and $27 million over the next two years this offseason.
In 2014, Jordan appeared in all 16 games and recorded 50 tackles, 7.5 sacks, one interception, a fumble recovery and five pass defenses. Pro Football Focus rated him as the No. 29 defensive end in a 4-3 system out of 59 qualifying players.
Given the details of the situation, it is hard to imagine any authoritative action coming down on Jordan for this incident. Regardless, we will provide more information regarding Jordan and any possible charges as the news becomes available.
