Saints DE/OLB Hau’oli Kikaha Suffers Torn ACL, Likely Done For Season

Nick Underhill of The Advocate reports that Saints second-year DE/OLB Hau’oli Kikaha has suffered a torn ACL.

  • Mike Garafolo confirms the report and adds that this will be the third ACL injury for Kikaha after he had two of them during his college career.

This will likely cost Kikaha the entire 2016 season and lead to him being placed on season-ending injured reserve in the coming days.

Kikaha figured to have a great opportunity for the Saints this year to display his pass-rushing ability. However, he’ll now face a long rehab period, but should be ready for the start of training camp in 2017.

Kikaha, was taken in the second round of last year’s NFL draft by the Saints. He’s in the second year of his four-year, $5.266 million rookie contract and stands to make a bse salary of $525,000 for the 2016 season.

In 2015, Kikaha appeared in 15 games for the Saints and recorded 52 tackles, four sacks, four forced fumbles, a recovery and two pass defenses. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 48 linebacker out of 97 qualifying players.
