Saints Sign QB Ryan Nassib

Saints HC Sean Payton confirmed Tuesday that they have, in fact, signed QB Ryan Nassib to a contract, per Mike Triplett.

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that the Saints are expected to sign former Giants QB Ryan Nassib to a contract.

The Cowboys recently brought Nassib in for a visit, which was the first reported interest in him since the free agent market opened several months. However, Nassib ultimately left Dallas without a deal and they wound up claiming Zac Dysert off of waivers.

Nassib figures to compete with Chase Daniel and Garrett Grayson for a roster spot behind Drew Brees this summer.

Nassib, 27, is a former fourth-round pick of the Giants back in 2013. He played out his rookie contract with New York and is testing the open market for the first time in his career.

In total, Nassib has appeared in five games and completed nine of 10 passing attempts for 128 yards and one touchdown.
