Saints & FB John Kuhn Have “Mutual Interest” In Return

Herbie Teope of the Times-Picayune reports that the Saints and free agent FB John Kuhn have “mutual interest” in him returning to New Orleans for the 2018 season.

According to Teope, the Saints and Kuhn have yet to meet, but that may change in the coming weeks leading up to the start of free agency.

A source has told Teope that Kuhn is weighing his future and the possibility of getting into the coaching ranks.

Kuhn, 35, originally signed on with the Steelers as an undrafted free agent out of Shippensburg back in 2005. He’s spent nine of his 10 years in the NFL with the Packers before he signed a one-year, $985,000 contract with the Saints in 2016.

New Orleans brought him back on another one-year contract last offseason before cutting him loose coming out of the preseason. He was on and off of the Saints’ roster last season before being placed on injured reserve in September and later designated to return towards the end of the year.

In 2017, Kuhn appeared in two games and rushed for two yards on one carry.
