This is the first reported free agent visit for Williams since free agency got underway a few months ago. There were reports that Williams was weighing the possibility of retiring from the NFL, but it appears as though he’s at least willing to consider his available options.
NFL teams can sign free agent players without it impacting their 2016 compensatory draft picks, so it would not be surprising to see a number of veterans sign with new teams in the coming days.
Williams, 34, appeared in all 16 games for the Seahawks last year and recorded 29 tackles, two sacks, and two pass defenses. Pro Football Focus has Williams down for playing 445 total snaps last year.
