Saints Looking To Trade CB Delvin Breaux

Nick Underhill of the Advocate reports that the Saints are field trade offers for CB Delvin Breaux right now. According to Underhill, New Orleans is “frustrated with his injury history over the last three years.

Breaux looked like he was on his way toward being a solid cornerback for the Saints, but has struggled with injuries the past few years, as Underhill points out.

Underhill adds that there is some interest in Breaux right now, so this figures to be something worth keeping an eye on in the coming weeks.

Breaux, 27, wound up signing on with the Saints as an undrafted free agent back in May of 2015. He’s currently in the third year of his three-year, $1.587 million contract and stands to make a base salary of $615,000 for the 2017 season before becoming a restricted free agent in 2018.

According to OverTheCap.com, trading Breaux would free up $615,000 of available cap space while creating $4,000 in dead money.

In 2016, Breaux appeared in six games and recorded 21 tackles, no interceptions and a pass defense for the Saints.
