Saints Place DT Brodrick Bunkley On Season-Ending Injured Reserve

The New Orleans Saints announced Thursday that they have placed DT Brodrick Bunkley on season-ending injured reserve.

Bunkley, 31, suffered a torn quad during Monday night’s loss to the Ravens, so this news shouldn’t come as much of a surprise given how serious this injury can be.

He’s currently in the third year of his five-year, $25 million contract that included $9.9 million guaranteed. He’ll make base salaries of $4.4 million over the course of the final two years of the agreement.

Bunkley’s 2014 season will come to an end with him recording 17 tackles over the course of 11 games.
