Saints Place OT Zach Strief On Injured Reserve

Field Yates of ESPN reports that the Saints have placed veteran OT Zach Strief on injured reserve Tuesday.

Strief was taken to the locker room during the fourth quarter of Sunday’s game against the Dolphins after rookie DE Charles Harris fell into the side of Strief’s knee while attempting to sack QB Drew Brees.

This is the second knee injury for Strief, as he previously missed a few weeks with an MCL sprain.

Strief, 34, is a former seventh-round pick of the Saints back in 2006. He has played all 11 years of his NFL career in New Orleans and was in the fourth year of his five-year, $20.5 million contract that included $8.5 million guaranteed and set to make a base salary of $1 million for the 2017 season.

In 2017, Strief was limited to appearing in just two games for the Saints.
