Saints Place RB Khiry Robinson On Season-Ending I.R.

The New Orleans Saints officially placed RB Khiry Robinson on season-ending injured reserve Tuesday, according to Evan Woodbery.

  • The Saints also released DB Sammy Seamster from their practice squad.

Robinson unfortunately fractured his tibia and underwent surgery a few days ago.

Robinson, 25, was carted off the field with a right leg injury during the Saints win over the Giants on Sunday, and all indications were that this was a major injury. Robinson was later taken to the hospital.

He’s in the final year of his three-year, $1.485 million rookie contract and stands to make base salary of $585,000 for the 2015 season before becoming a restricted free agent next year.

Robinson’s 2015 season ends with him appearing in eight games and rushing for 180 yards on 56 carries (3.2 YPC) to go along with 17 receptions for 115 yards receiving and four touchdowns.
