Saints Place RB Kendall Hunter On I.R.

Saints HC Sean Payton announced Friday that they’ve placing RB Kendall Hunter on season-ending injured reserve, per Evan Woodbery.

Hunter, 27, is a former fourth-round pick of the 49ers back in 2011. He wound up signing a one-year, $870,000 contract extension with the 49ers in November of last year, but was released from injured reserve with a settlement a few weeks into the season.

Unfortunately, Hunter missed the entire 2014 season after tearing his ACL.

After working out for a number of teams during the season, the Saints eventually signed him to a contract a few weeks ago.

This season, Hunter appeared in two games and ran for just two yards on a single carry. He’ll try to secure another opportunity in the coming months.
