Saints Placing CB Damian Swann On Injured Reserve

Nick Underhill of the Advocate reports that the Saints are placing CB Damian Swann on injured reserve Wednesday.

The Saints signed veteran OLB Paul Kruger earlier this morning, so they did need another roster spot.

Swann, 23, was taken in the fifth round of last year’s NFL draft. He’s currently in the second year of his four-year, $2.464 million rookie contract and stands to make a base salary of $525,000 for the 2016 season.

In 2015, Swann appeared in seven games for the Saints and recorded 22 tackles, no interceptions and four pass defenses.
