Saints Placing LB Stephone Anthony On Injured Reserve With Knee Injury

Saints HC Sean Payton announced Tuesday that they’re placing LB Stephone Anthony on injured reserve with a knee injury, per Mike Triplett.

The Saints will likely add someone to their roster by the end of the day to take Anthony’s spot.

Anthony, 24, is a former first-round pick of the Saints back in 2015. He’s currently in the second year of his four-year, $7.731 million contract and stands to make base salaries of $1,137,884 and $1,087,150 over the next two years.

New Orleans will have to decide whether to pick up his fifth-year option in 2018.

This season, Anthony appeared in 10 games for the Saints and recorded 16 tackles and no sacks.
