Saints Placing TE Josh Hill On Injured Reserve

Saints HC Sean Payton told reporters on Friday that they’ve placing TE Josh Hill on injured reserve, per Sean Fazende.

Hill, unfortunately, suffered a broken fibula during their Week 13 loss to the Lions, so this shouldn’t come as a big surprise.

Hill, 26, signed on with the Saints as an undrafted free agent out of Idaho State back in 2013. He signed a three-year, $7.1 million contract with the Saints back in March, which included $3.25 million guaranteed and stands to make base salaries of $750,000 and $1.65 million over the next two years of the agreement.

In 2016, Hill appeared in nine games and caught 15 passes for 149 yards receiving and one touchdown for the Saints. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 47 tight end out of 63 qualifying players.
