Saints’ Players Will Receive Punishment For Their Roles In The Bounty Scandal This Week

NFL.com’s Jason La Canfora reports that the league will finally issue punishments to the players that were involved in the New Orleans Saints bounty scandal.

La Canfora guesstimates that MLB Jonathan Vilma will receive 4-8 games, DE Will Smith 2-4 games, SS Roman Harper 1-2 games and DL Anthony Hargrove 1-2 games.

It’s no surprise that Vilma is facing the most serious suspension, considering that he was reportedly willing to put up $10,000 of his own money for anyone that knocked Brett Favre out of the championship game.

  1. Throw the book at ’em. It must be nice to have the kind of money to be able to throw around 10 g’s like it’s 10 bucks. There should be no place anywhere for this type of activity. I hope the players get heavy fines, lose their pay and the Saints finish in last place. I especially hope the Rams do not give Williams a job when and IF he’s reinstated. Goodell has a prime opportunity here to set a strong precedence.
