Saints Promote DB Brian Dixon To Active Roster & Sign LB Chris McCain To PS

The New Orleans Saints have promoted DB Brian Dixon to their active roster on Thursday, according to Nick Underhill.

  • Underhill adds that the Saints have also signed LB Chris McCain to their practice squad to take Dixon’s place on the 10-man unit.

The Saints’ practice squad now consists of:

  1. G John Fullington
  2. WR Jake Lampman
  3. TE Garrett Griffin
  4. C Jack Allen
  5. WR Jordan Williams
  6. DT Ashaad Mabry
  7. QB Garrett Grayson
  8. DB Taveze Calhoun
  9. TE Jake Stoneburner
  10. LB Chris McCain

Dixon, 26, wound up signing on with the Saints as an undrafted free agent out of Northwest Missouri State back in 2014. He managed to make the 53-man roster in each of his first two years but was unfortunately cut loose coming out of the preseason.

Since then, Dixon has been on and off of the Saints’ practice squad.

In 2016, Dixon has been active for one game but has yet to record a single statistic.
