Saints Promote OLB Vince Biegel, Waive DB Arthur Maulet

The New Orleans Saints officially promoted OLB Vince Biegel to their active roster and waived DB Arthur Maulet on Friday.

Biegel, 25, was selected with the No. 108 overall pick by the Packers in last year’s NFL Draft. Green Bay actually got this pick for trading out of round one with the Browns.

Biegel signed a four-year contract worth $3,093,748 and was set to make base salaries of $555,000 and $645,000 over the next two years when the Packers waived him coming out of the preseason.

The Saints later signed Biegel to their practice squad.

During his college career at Wisconsin, Biegel recorded 131 tackles, 28.5 tackles for a loss, 15 sacks, two forced fumbles and three pass defenses over the course of 36 games.
