Saints RB Khiry Robinson Out For Year With Broken Leg

Saints HC Sean Payton announced that RB Khiry Robinson has a fractured his tibia and underwent surgery last night, per Josina Anderson.

  • Payton added that this will, obviously, end Robinson’s 2015 season.

Mike Triplett of ESPN mentioned that he could see the Saints re-signing veteran RB Tim Hightower, who was with the team during the offseason, so this could ne something to keep an eye on.

Robinson, 25, was carted off the field with a right leg injury during the Saints win over the Giants on Sunday, and all indications were that this was a major injury. Robinson was later taken to the hospital.

He’s in the final year of his three-year, $1.485 million rookie contract and stands to make base salary of $585,000 for the 2015 season before becoming a restricted free agent next year.

Robinson’s 2015 season ends with him appearing in eight games and rushing for 180 yards on 56 carries (3.2 YPC) to go along with 17 receptions for 115 yards receiving and four touchdowns.
