Saints Re-Sign DE Chris McCain To Practice Squad

Herbie Teope of the Times-Picayune reports that the Saints are re-signing DE Chris McCain to their practice squad on Wednesday.

The Saints’ practice squad now consists of:

  1. G John Fullington
  2. TE Garrett Griffin
  3. C Jack Allen
  4. WR Jordan Williams
  5. DT Ashaad Mabry
  6. QB Garrett Grayson
  7. DB Taveze Calhoun
  8. TE Jake Stoneburner
  9. DE Royce LaFrance
  10. DE Chris McCain

McCain, 24, wound up going undrafted out of California back in 2014. He’s managed to make the 53-man roster in each of his first two years in the NFL and was in the final year of his three-year, $1.53 million rookie contract and was set to make a base salary of $600,000 for the 2016 season.

McCain was traded to the Saints but was waived as the team cut their roster down to 53 players. Dallas signed him to their practice squad just a few days later but unfortunately waived him in September.

The Saints signed him to their practice squad a few weeks ago before recently promoting him to their active roster. McCain was waived on Tuesday.

In 2016, McCain has appeared in one game and recorded one tackle for the Saints.
