Saints Re-Signing Veteran FB John Kuhn To One-Year Deal

The New Orleans Saints are re-signing veteran FB John Kuhn, according to Joel A. Erickson of the Advocate.

  • Herbie Teope confirms the report and adds that Kuhn receives a one-year contract with an $80,000 signing bonus.

Kuhn was in line to once again test the open market as an unrestricted free agent this offseason.

Kuhn, 34, originally signed on with the Steelers as an undrafted free agent out of Shippensburg back in 2005. He’s spent nine of his 10 years in the NFL with the Packers before he signed a one-year, $985,000 contract with the Saints back in August of last year.

In 2016, Kuhn appeared in all 16 games for the Saints and rushed for 37 yards on 18 carries (2.1 YPC) to go along with 16 receptions for 70 yards receiving and five touchdowns. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 9 fullback out of 17 qualifying players.
