Saints Officially Sign RB C.J. Spiller To A Four-Year, $18M Deal

The Saints officially announced the signing of RB C.J. Spiller on Friday.

Rand Getlin reports that Spiller receives a four-year contract worth $18 million and includes $9 million guaranteed and a signing bonus of $5 million. Getlin adds that Spiller contract could void to three years based on his performance.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that the Saints have reached agreement with former Bills RB C.J. Spiller.

  • Rand Getlin reports that Spiller will receive a four-year contract from the Saints.
  • Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk reported earlier in the day that strong mutual interest existed between Spiller and the Saints.

Spiller visited with the Saints on Thursday and should serve as a solid complement to RB Mark Ingram.

Spiller, 27, was limited to appearing in nine games and rushing for 300 yards on 78 carries (3.8 YPC) to go along with 19 receptions for 125 yards receiving and one touchdown.
