Saints Restructure CB Keenan Lewis’ Contract

According to Larry Holder of the New Orleans Times-Picayune, the Saints have restructured the contract of CB Keenan Lewis in order to create some cap space.

  • Holder mentions that Lewis’ 2014 base salary has been reduced from $3.3 million to $1 million.
  • The remaining $2.1 million have been converted into a bonus.
  • Lewis’ 2015 salary of $4.1 million has also been reduced to $1.8 million as well.

This will effectively increase his cap figures for the 2016 and 2017 seasons by $1.1 million. New Orleans now has $3,089,212 in available cap space.

Last year, signed a five-year, $25.5 million contract that included $10.5 million guaranteed with the Saints. He would appear in all 16 games and total 47 tackles, four interceptions and a forced fumble.
