Saints Rookie OT Andrus Peat Out Roughly 4 Weeks With MCL Sprain

Rand Getlin of NFL Media reports that Saints first-round OT Andrus Peat suffered a grade-2 MCL sprain during last night’s game.

According to Getline, the good news is that Peat won’t require surgery. However, the expectation is that he will end up missing roughly four weeks with this injury.

Peat was filling in for Terron Armstead when he suffered the injury during the first quarter of Thursday’s game.

Peat, 21, is in the first year of his four-year, $11.393 million rookie contract and stands to make base salary of $435,000 for the 2015 season.

He’s been active for all six games this season, but has been limited to playing 105 total snaps, according to Pro Football Focus.
