Saints RT Zach Strief To Miss Time With MCL Sprain

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that Saints RT Zach Strief suffered an MCL sprain during Monday night’s loss to the Vikings and is expected to miss some time with this injury.

The plan for Strief is to have him undergo more tests Tuesday to determine the extent of his injury.

The Saints had Senio Kelemete fill in for Strief during Monday’s game, so he could be in line to start for them over the next few weeks.

Strief, 33, is a former seventh-round pick of the Saints back in 2006. He has played all 11 years of his NFL career in New Orleans and was in the fourth year of his five-year, $20.5 million contract that included $8.5 million guaranteed and set to make a base salary of $1 million for the 2017 season.

In 2016, Strief appeared in all 16 games for the Saints and was rated by Pro Football Focus as the No. 12 offensive tackle out of 78 qualifying players.
