Saints Sign K Kai Forbath

Mike Garafolo reports that the Saints are signing K Kai Forbath to replace Zach Hocker, who is being placed on waivers.

Forbath was among the kickers who tried out for the Saints a few weeks ago, but New Orleans ultimately elected to stick with Hocker, which proved to be a mistake.

Forbath, 28, originally signed on with the Cowboys as an undrafted free agent out of back in 2011. He lasted a around eight months with the team before he was placed on waivers and later claimed by the Redskins.

Washington placed an original round tender on Forbath back in March that would have paid him $1,542,000 for the 2015 season before he was cut a month ago.

Forbath wound up missing one of his two field goal attempts against the Dolphins in Week 1. He added an extra point and a touchback.
