Martin, 25, wound up signing on with the Cardinals as an undrafted free agent out of Bowling Green back in May of 2015. He was waived at the start of the season and was later signed to their practice squad.
The Cardinals re-signed Martin to a one-year contract this past March. Arizona waived him with an injury designation and he later reverted to injured reserve. However, the team decided to release him with an injury settlement.
The Saints signed him to a contract a few weeks ago before cutting him loose earlier in the week.
In 2016, Martin appeared in eight games and recorded four tackles, no sacks and a fumble recovery.
