Saints Sign QB Tom Savage To One-Year, $1.5M Deal

The New Orleans Saints have signed QB Tom Savage to a contract on Wednesday.

  • Aaron Wilson reports that Savage receives a one-year, $1.5 million deal from the Saints.

It was reported earlier today that the Saints were interested in Savage, so they were clearly wanted to move quickly to sign him. (NFLTR)

Savage, 27, is a former fourth-round pick of the Texans back in 2014. He played out the final year of his four-year, $2.52 million contract and made a base salary of $690,000 for the 2017 season.

Savage is testing the open market as an unrestricted free agent for the first time in his NFL career.

In 2017, Savage appeared in eight games and completed 56.1 percent of his passes for 1412 yards, five touchdowns and six interceptions. The Texans placed him on injured reserve after he suffered a scary concussion during their loss to the 49ers.
