The New Orleans Saints signed RB Vick Ballard reserve/future contract on Wednesday.
- The Saints also signed DB Erik Harris and WR Kyle Prater to future/reserve deals.
Future/reserve contracts are essentially an opportunity for players compete for a roster spot in offseason workouts and training camp.
Ballard, 25, is a former fifth-round pick of the Colts back in 2012. Indianapolis wound up cutting him loose a few weeks into the season.
Ballard has missed all but one game over the past two years, so there is obviously some serious question about his future in the NFL.
