Saints Sign Seneca Wallace to One-Year Deal

The New Orleans Saints announced Monday on the team’s Twitter account that Seneca Wallace has signed a one-year deal with the club.

The 32-year-old Wallace spent the first seven years of his career with the Seattle Seahawks, primarily as a back-up to Matt Hasselbeck. He left for the Cleveland Browns in 2010, spending two seasons there amongst the revolving door of Cleveland quarterbacks.

Wallace was out of the league last 2012 season, but now returns as Drew Breesbackup

The Saints add depth to the league’s most coveted position. Earlier this offseason, former Saints back-up Chase Daniel packed his bags and joined the Kansas City Chiefs. Luke McCown was the primary second-string passer, but will now likely move down a notch to accommodate Wallace.

Having played in 62 career games in nine seasons, Wallace has racked up 4,808 yards, 31 touchdowns and only 18 interceptions.
