Saints Sign Veteran DL Tony McDaniel, Waive G Cameron Lee

The New Orleans Saints officially signed veteran DL Tony McDaniel to a contract on Thursday and waived G Cameron Lee.

  • The Saints also waived WR Dan Arnold with an injury designation.

McDaniel, 32, originally signed on with the Jaguars back in 2006 as an undrafted free agent out of Tennessee. After three years in Jacksonville, McDaniel was traded tot eh Dolphins in return for a seventh-round pick that ultimately became WR Julian Edelman.

McDaniel later signed on with the Seahawks in 2013 before being released a few years later. The Buccaneers signed him to a one-year deal for the 2015 season and he later returned to Seattle on another one-year contract last year.

In 2016, McDaniel appeared in all 16 games for the Seahawks and recorded 43 tackles, no sacks, a fumble recovery and three pass defenses. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 52 interior defender out of 127 qualifying players.

We had him featured in our Top 50 Available Free Agents list.
