The New Orleans Saints have signed veteran RB Brian Leonard to a contract, according to his agent Mike McCartney.

The Saints hosted a number of free agents for tryouts on Tuesday including running backs: Andre Brown, Tim Hightower, and Mikel Leshoure.
Leonard, 30, hadn’t found a lot of reported interest before his tryout with the Saints, but he put together a fairly decent 2013 season for the Buccaneers.
Last year, Leonard appeared in all 16 games and ran for 182 yards on 47 carries (3.9 YPC) and also contributed 29 receptions for 179 yards receiving. In fact, Pro Football Focus had him rated as the No. 20 running back in the NFL last season.
