Nick Underhill of the Advocate reports that the Saints are signing LB Craig Robertson to a contract.

New Orleans recently brought Robertson in for a visit and he met with the Seahawks before that.

The Saints are in a tough cap situation with very little room to work with, so they’ll likely have to make a roster move in the coming days.

Robertson, 28, wound up signing on with the Browns as an undrafted free agent out of North Texas back in 2011. He’s managed to make the 53-man roster in each of the past four seasons and was testing the open market for the first time.

In 2015, Robertson appeared in 12 games for the Browns and recorded 58 tackles, one interception, a fumble recovery and five pass defenses. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 37 linebacker out of 97 qualifying players.

We had him featured in our Best Available Free Agents list.
