Herbie Teope reports that the Saint are signing LB Sae Tautu to a futures contract for the 2018 season on Monday.
As of now, the Saints have signed four players to futures deals including:
Futures deals are essentially camp invites that will give players the opportunity to compete for roster spots during offseason workouts and training camp.
Tautu, 25, signed on with the Saints as an undrafted free agent out of BYU back in May of last year but was waived with an injury designation during the preseason. A few weeks after he reverted to the Saints’ injured reserve list, New Orleans cut him Tautu loose with a settlement.
During his four-year college career at BYU, Tautu recorded 100 total tackles, 21.5 tackles for loss, 10 sacks, three pass defenses, and one forced fumble.
