Herbie Teope reports that the Saints are signing QB Justin Thomas to a three-year contract on Monday following his recent tryout during the team’s rookie minicamp.
Teope adds that Thomas worked out as a defensive back and wide receiver during his tryout for the Saints.
Thomas wound up going undrafted out of Georgia Tech a few weeks ago before securing an invite to tryout during the Saints’ rookie minicamp.
During his four-year college career at Georgia Tech, Thomas threw for 4,748 yards while completing 48.7 percent of his passes to go along with 40 touchdowns and 18 interceptions over the course of 48 games. He also rushed for 2,409 yards and 22 touchdowns.
