Saints & TE Jimmy Graham Reached Agreement On Four-Year Deal Worth $40M

ESPN’s Adam Scehfter reports that the Saints and TE Jimmy Graham have reached an agreement on a four-year contract worth $40 million Tuesday morning.

  • Schefter adds that Graham’s contract will include $21 million guaranteed.

The Saints reportedly had a standing offer of $9.5 million out to Graham, so it appears as though he was able to boost his annual salary by $500,000 in recent negotiations.

We still haven’t seen the exact breakdown of the deal, but Graham is now the highest paid tight end in the league, despite the fact that he lost his grievance hearing regarding his position.

Graham managed to put together a very good season, despite the fact that he was hampered by a foot injury for a good portion of the year.  He totaled 86 receptions for 1,215 yards receiving and 16 touchdowns and was rated by Pro Football Focus as the No. 1 tight end in the league.

We had Graham listed as the No. 3 player in our Top 25 – 2015 Free Agents list.
