Saints Hosting WR Brandon Marshall, Interested In Signing Him

Update:

Nick Underhill of the Advocate reports that the Saints are hosting free agent WR Brandon Marshall for a visit on Monday and are interested in signing him to a contract.

According to Adam Schefter, the Saints are expected to sign veteran WR Brandon Marshall to a contract this week after Dez Bryant recently tore his Achilles.

Schefter adds that Marshall could end up playing for the Saints as early as next week.

Marshall was among a group of free agent receivers the Saints tried out last week.

Marshall, 34, is a former fourth-round pick by the Broncos in the 2009 NFL Draft. After four years in Denver, he was traded to the Dolphins in 2010. Marshall’s time in Miami was limited to just two season before he was once again traded, this time to the Bears in return for two third-round picks.

In total, Marshall spent three seasons with the Bears, but was traded for a third time to the Jets in March of 2015. Marshall was in the final year of his contract when the Jets released him last offseason and he later signed a two-year, $12 million with the Giants.

However, the Giants released Marshall this past April and he later signed a one-year deal worth up to $2 million with the Seahawks before being waived last week.

In 2018, Marshall has appeared in six games for the Seahawks and caught 11 passes for 136 yards receiving and one touchdown.
