ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that the Saints are trading WR/return specialist Jalen Saunders to the New England Patriots for a conditional draft pick.

Saunders, 22, is a former fourth-round pick of the Jets back in 2014. Since entering the league, Saunders has already played for four teams, so his career hasn’t gotten off to a great start.

The Saints signed him off of the Seahawks’ practice squad in November of last year.

Saunders  has one year remaining on his cotnract and stands to make a base salary of $510,000 for the 2015 season.

In 2014, Saunders appeared in nine games, but caught just one pass for seven yards, while contributing 245 total punt and kick return yards for the Saints.
