Saints Tried Out 11 Players Including CB Bradley Fletcher & WR Greg Salas

The New Orleans Saints brought in five players for tryouts including CB Bradley Fletcher, CB Chris Owens, WR Preston Parker, WR Aldrick Robinson, and WR Greg Salas, according to Howard Balzer.

  • Aaron Wilson reports that the Saints also worked out LB James Anderson, QB Matt Flynn, TE Rashaun Allen, WR Damarr Aultman, CB Dwight Bentley, CB Bradley Fletcher, and LB Trey Millard.

Fletcher, 29, is a former third-round pick of the Rams back in 2009. He joined the Eagles as an unrestricted free agent back in 2013 before signing on with the Patriots this past March.

New England signed him to a one-year, $1.5 million contract, but wound up releasing him a little over a month ago in a move that created $1,581,250 in available cap space.

This season, Fletcher has recorded 10 tackles and a forced fumble for the Patriots over the course of two games.

Salas, 27, is a former fourth-round pick of the Rams back in back in 2011. He lasted just a little over a year before he was traded to the Patriots in return for a seventh-round pick.

Since then, Salas has played for the Eagles and Jets before the Lions brought him in on a one-year contract back in May. Detroit wound up placing him on season-ending injured reserve with a knee injury and later releasing him with a settlement a few weeks into the season.

In 2014, Salas appeared in 10 games and caught eight passes for 167 yards and ran for 20 yards and a touchdown on one carry.
