Saints Tried Out Veteran K Josh Scobee

Pro Football Talk is reporting that the Saints brought in veteran K Josh Scobee for a tryout on Wednesday.

However, the Saints did not sign him to a contract following the workout.

Scobee, 33, was traded to the Steelers in a deal that sent a 2016 sixth-round pick to the Jaguars. This came after Pittsburgh placed K Shaun Suisham on season-ending injured reserve with a knee injury.

The Steelers ultimately elected to cut Scobee loose just over a month into the season and sign K Chris Boswell to a contract.

In 2015, Scobee converted just 60 percent of his field goal attempts including 3 of 7 from 40 yards or more. He has also missed an extra point.
