Saints Waive Four Players

The New Orleans Saints have begun trimming their roster as Mike Triplett of ESPN reports that the team has waived: RB Tim Flanders, WR Tobais Palmer, TE Je’Ron Hamm and LB Chidera Uzo-Diribe.

Flanders, 22, signed with the Saints as an undrafted free agent out of Sam Houston State back in May. During his four years at Sam Houston State, Flanders ran for 5,664 yards on 999 carries (5.7 YPC) and scored 70 total touchdowns.

Hamm, 22, is another undrafted free agent who signed with New Orleans out of Louisiana-Monroe this past May. During his four years at Louisiana-Monroe, Hamm caught 111 passes for 1,587 yards receiving and ten touchdowns.

Palmer, 24, signed with the Jaguars as an undrafted free agent out of North Carolina State back in 2013. He later signed a future/reserve contract with the Chargers in January, but he was later placed on waivers in May. The Saints brought him in a few weeks ago, so the odds were against him making the team.

Uzo-Diribe, 22, signed with the Saints as an undrafted free agent out of Colorado back in May. During his four-year college career, Uzo-Diribe recorded 112 tackles, 30.5 tackles for a loss, 19.5 sacks, and nine forced fumbles.
