Josh Katzenstein of the Times-Picayune reports that the Saints will tender a contract to exclusive rights free agent WR Willie SneadHowever, his representatives plan to continue discussing a new deal with the team in the coming days.

We look forward to having additional conversations,” said James Parkeson Miller. “They like Willie, and we like the Saints.”

This is a very meager salary for the production Snead delivered in 2016, so it would make sense for the Saints to offer him either a raise or a multi-year deal in a display of good faith.

Snead, 24, originally signed on with the Browns as an undrafted free agent back in 2014. He lasted just a few months in Cleveland before signing on to the Panthers’ practice squad during his rookie season. Snead eventually joined the Saints towards the end of the year and returned to the team on a future/reserve contract.

In 2016, Snead appeared in 15 games and caught 72 passes for 895 yards receiving and four touchdowns.
