Saints Worked Out 5 LBs Including Sio Moore & Jonathan Freeny

According to Howard Balzer, the New Orleans Saints brought in five free agent linebackers for workouts on Tuesday including Audie ColeJonathan FreenyJoshua Mauga, Sio Moore, and Spencer Paysinger.

Moore, 27, is a former third-round pick of the Raiders back in 2013. Moore spent two seasons in Oakland before being traded to the Colts in return for a 2016 sixth-round pick.

Moore was in the final year of a four-year, $3.054 million contract when the Colts waived him in October of last year. After a brief stint with the Chiefs, Moore signed on with the Cardinals and finished out the year in Arizona.

The Texans signed Moore to a contract this summer, but he was among their final roster cuts coming out of the preseason.

In 2016, Moore appeared in nine games and recorded 65 tackles, no sacks, two forced fumbles and a pass defense.

The Patriots signed him to a two-year contract extension coming out of the preseason last year but elected to cut him loose on Saturday as they trimmed their roster down to 53 players.

The Ravens signed him to a contract but was recently cut loose. Freeny signed on with the Jaguars last month but was waived to make room for DT Marcell Dareus, who was acquired in a trade with the Bills.

In 2017, Freeny has appeared in three games and recorded two tackles and no sacks for interceptions.
