Saints Worked Out FBs Henry Hynoski & John Conner

Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk reports that the Saints brought in a pair of fullbacks this week for workouts including Henry Hynoski and John Conner.

However, neither player was signed to a contract, according to Florio.

Hynoski, 26, originally signed on with the Giants as an undrafted free agent out of Pittsburgh back in 2011. He spent four years with the Giants before he was released at the start of the regular season.

Since becoming available, Hynoski has worked out for the Patriots, Buccaneers and Jets.

In 2014, Hynoski appeared in all 16 games and was rated by Pro Football Focus as the No. 2 overall fullback last year, which included a solid rating as a run-blocker.

Conner, 27, was originally drafted by the Jets in the fifth round of the 2010 NFL Draft. He spent two years with the team before he was ultimately waived with an injury settlement in October of 2012.

Since then, Conner has played for the Bengals, Giants, and Jets before signing on with the Bills this summer.

Last year, Conner appeared in 12 games for the Jets and ran for 20 yards on six carries (3.3 YPC) to go along with two receptions for 25 yards and a touchdown. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 12 fullback out of 23 qualifying players.

  1. Rex Ryan loved him with the Jets, calling him “The Terminator”. For Ryan to let him go in Buffalo might indicate some injury limitations that might not help the Saints now. He was a devastating blocker a few years ago.
