Saints WR Cameron Meredith Undergoing Knee Surgery, Headed To IR

Adam Schefter reports that the Saints are placing WR Cameron Meredith on injured reserve Thursday, as he will undergo arthroscopic knee surgery.

Schefter says that Meredith is expected to make a full recovery.

This will create a roster spot for Dez Bryant and helps to explain why they were in the market for a receiver this week.

Meredith, 26, wound up signing on with the Bears as an undrafted free agent out of Illinois State back in May of 2015. He played out the final year of his three-year, $1.581 million contract before agreeing to a two-year, $10 million deal with the Saints during the offseason.

Meredith missed the 2017 season after suffering a torn ACL.

In 2018, Meredith appeared in six games and caught nine passes for 114 yards receiving and one touchdown.
