Ben Goessling of the Star Tribune reports that the Vikings are expected to once again have Sam Bradford serve as their backup quarterback to Case Keenum for Sunday’s NFC Championship game against the Eagles and have Teddy Bridgewater as inactive.

Following their win over the Saints, Vikings HC Mike Zimmer explained the decision to make Bradford the team’s backup quarterback and have Bridgewater inactive by saying: Shamar Stephen was a little banged up, so I needed an extra defensive lineman and Bradford played great against this team in the past, so that’s why I thought about it.

The Vikings officially activated Bradford from injured reserve a few weeks ago after he worked his way back from a non-contact bone bruise in his left knee, which happens to be the same knee in which he twice has had ACL reconstruction surgery.

Bradford, 29, is a former first-round pick of the Rams back in 2010. He spent four years with the Rams before he was traded to the Eagles in 2015. After Bridgewater sustained a serious knee injury last year, the Eagles traded him to the Vikings for draft compensation.

Bradford is currently in the final year of his two-year, $36 million contract that included $36 million guaranteed and stands to make a base salary of $13 million for the 2017 season.

In 2017, Bradford has appeared in two games and thrown for 382 yards while completing 74.4 percent of his passes to go along with three touchdowns and no interceptions.

We have both Bradford and Bridgewater featured in our Top 100  – 2018 NFL Free Agents list.
