Sam Shields’ Agent, Packers Meet to Discuss Contract

The agent for Packers cornerback Sam Shields, Drew Rosenhaus, is meeting with the Packers face-to-face Monday in hopes of getting the restricted free agent signed so he can practice with the team during their minicamp this week, a source tells Rob Demovsky of the Green Bay Press-Gazette.

As a restricted free agent with a second-round rate, his 2013 tender would be just over $2 million.

It is believed that Rosenhaus is looking for a long-term deal for his client.

If Shields doesn’t sign his tender bu the June 17th deadline, the Packers could reduce their offer to 110 percent of his 2012 salary, which was $540,000.
