Seahawks Contacted Browns, Bucs & Bengals Regarding A Percy Harvin Trade

Here are some more notes regarding the Percy Harvin trade.

Manish Mehta reports that the Browns, Buccaneers and Bengals were all contacted about possibly trading for Harvin.

Peter King reports that the Seahawks will receive a sixth-round pick for Harvin if the Jets cut him after this year. However, Seattle will get a fourth-round pick if he’s still on their roster as of 2015.

  • King confirms that the Seahawks spoke to the Browns and Buccaneers, but the Jets reportedly made the best offer for Harvin.

Seattle was reportedly open with the Jets about their issues with Harvin and had they not reached a deal with any team, they would have released Harvin this week.

King mentions that Michael Vick will be a good mentor for Harvin, who will essentially have a 10-game trial period with New York.

As we’ve already mentioned, Harvin’s contract still has $41 million remaining over the next four years, but none of this is guaranteed and the Jets could move on without an cap repercussions if it doesn’t work out.
