Update:

The Seahawks have placed CB Tharold Simon on the season-ending injured reserve and officially promoted RB Rod Smith to their active roster, per Gregg Bell of The News Tribune.

Simon, 24, missed the last two weeks after sustaining a dislocated toe, and has yet to record a snap in 2015.

ESPN’s Chris Mortensen reports that the Seahawks are expected to promote RB Rod Smith to their active roster today.

This comes after Seattle officially ruled out Marshawn Lynch for their match up against the Bengals.

Fred Jackson is still hoping to play in Sunday’s game, despite sustaining an ankle injury last week and being listed as questionable.

Smith, 23, wound up signing on with the Seahawks as an undrafted free agent out of Ohio State following this year’s NFL draft. He was unable to make the 53-man roster coming out of the preseason, but he was later added to their practice squad.

Smith has yet to appear in an NFL game.
