Seahawks Give RFA WR Jermaine Kearse A Second-Round Tender

Field Yates of ESPN is reporting that the Seahawks have tender restricted free agent WR Jermaine Kearse at the second-round level.

This means would pay him a salary of $2.356 million for the 2015 season if/when he signs the tender.

Because Kearse is a restricted free agent, he could wait and see if there are any teams interested in making him a better offer in the coming weeks.

Seattle could still use some help at receiver, so makes plenty of sense for them to tender Kearse at the second-round level to try and ensure he’s back for another season.

Kearse, 25, signed on with the Seahawks as an undrafted free agent out of Washington back in 2012.

Last year, Kearse appeared in 15 games and caught 38 passes for 537 yards receiving and a touchdown. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 81 receiver out of 110 qualifying players in 2014.
