Seahawks HC Pete Carroll: “I Ain’t Old Enough To Think About Retiring”

In recent weeks, there have been some rumors circulating around the league that Seahawks HC Pete Carroll could be contemplating retirement.

However, Carroll attempted to put the speculation to rest Sunday by tweeting that he has no plans to walk away after the season.

Ian Rapoport mentioned earlier in the day that there are “remote” questions about whether Carroll will return as the Seahawks head coach in 2018. According to Rapoport, Carroll has privately mused about retirement and a source close him said Carroll’s focus is only on the upcoming game and not the future.

As for the Seahawks, they believe Carroll will return for the rebuild, but Rapoport said that this situation was still worth watching.

Carroll, 66, was hired as the Seahawks’ head coach back in 2010. Since taking the job, Carroll has led the team to a record of 79-47 (62.6 percent) to go along with six playoff appearances, two trips to Super Bowls and a Championship in 2013.

We’ll have more regarding Carroll and his future in Seattle as the news is available.
